30 ways to save £1 ~ MoneySupermarket

Hey there guys!!

Money supermarket are running an awesome competition for UK bloggers which helps us all pocket the pounds throughout the year to save money and treat ourselves with something nice ;)
This competition includes coming up with 30 handy tips and tricks to save £1 (or more), and one lucky winner will win a fantastic £1000!

Here are my money saving tips :)

1) Don't pay using your card when shopping, out for a meal or on a night out on a budget, when you can't physically see the money you are more inclined to spend more than you realise, instead, withdraw the amount you're allowing yourself to spend, and don't spend any more!

2) Keep a jar of spare change, put anything under a pound into it, and see how much you save!

3) Keep an eye out for special buy one get one free or 3 for 2 offers!

4) Use superdrug or boots own brand products, cheaper and just as effective!

5) When going to areas such as central London, bring lunch and drinks from home as the city can be mighty expensive!

6) Before a night out, pre drink pre drink pre drink! Some pubs bars and clubs are ridiculously priced, and having a couple before you leave means you can have a couple less while you're out!

7) Ask for samples! Before you splash the cash on expensive foundations just because the blogging world says they're great, test it out for a few days to make sure it's right for you!

8) Check out charity shops in your local area as they might have some amazing clothes for much less than you would pay elsewhere on the high street!

9) Open a saving account! A few years down the line you could have a holiday or cars worth in there!

10) Check out eBay for amazing deals and cheap dupes!

11) When food shopping, only buy what you KNOW you will eat, never by too much, if it goes to waste, it's only a waste of money!

12) Instead of buying new clothes and bags all the time, have a look to see if you can customise or change things you already have to suit the current fashion!

13) When buying dresses and occasion outfits, don't buy something you can only wear once and then is put away for eternity, buy things you can wear time and time again!

14) For expensive clothing, again make sure it's something you can get your money's worth out of, eg coats, jeans, and jackets!

15) Get an NUS card for student discounts and free goodies from many companies!

16) Cut the legs off old pairs of jeans instead of buying new shorts!

17) Go vintage by going through your mums or grandmothers wardrobe and taking their best pieces from their day! (With permission of course!)

18) When shopping at places who charge you for carrier bags, go prepared with you're own.

19) Stick to your phone plan! Never go over your monthly tariff, use a friends phone or go to a wifi zone!

20) Pound shops are more amazing than you think, sometimes you see things you pay up to 5x the price of in a supermarket usually!

21) Cut up old t-shirts for crop tops, or get cheap tees from the men's section in primark and turn them into more feminine, and more expensive looking tops!

22) Invest in decent tights, it's more efficient to own two or three pairs of good quality tights from m&s that will last ages, than to buy new primark ones every week!

23) Limit yourself to only going to the cinema on Wednesdays with the orange wednesdays offer!

24) Use loyalty cards such as nandos, to get perks of being a regular!

25) Use superdrug and boots advantage cards!

26) Sell unwanted items on eBay.

27) Swap clothes with friends when you're bored of your wardrobe or things don't fit anymore!

28) Walk instead of taking the bus if you don't have free bus travel, and if you do, bus it everywhere where possible instead of driving or using trains!

29) Never go to cash machines that charge fees for withdrawing money!

30) Go shopping in person when possible or only shop online when there is a free delivery offer on!

Hope these tips hope you pocket some extra pounds! :)

Mini Haul!

Hey guys!
I'm here today with a verrrrry quick small haul!
I done a quick run around Brent Cross today and picked up a couple of things I needed and I thought I
would share them with you!
First, I went into Topshop and picked up this simple black skater skirt.

£16, Topshop
I like this skirt cos its super versatile and easy to wear. Its Jersey material which makes it nice and comfortable. Also, £16 is a bargain price for a Topshop skirt!

I then popped into boots, and got a few things.
Botanics Gentle Cleansing Cream
£3.99
Torn between the Simple cleansing lotion at £2.99 and this, I decided to try out the Botanics and see how things go.

Oval cotton wool pads
£1.69
I just also restocked up on these babies to use with my cleansing lotion.

SkinClear Deep Pore Facial Treatment Scrub
£4.07
I decided to branch out from my usual St Ives Apricot Scrub, and go for this skin clearing formula, and see if it does my skin some good, as its been looking extremely dull lately!

Simple replenishing rich moisturiser
£3.89
So, for moisturisers, I tend to vary between a few, but for the most part I usually use Simple's hydrating light moisturiser, however I do not feel as though it's doing quite enough for my skin. Therefore the most 'simple' solution, (pun rather intended), was to try their rich version, especially now that winter is in the horizon!

So, that was all for today, hope this interested you, if you've tried any of these products let me know, or if you have any recommendations please leave a comment!

buh bye!!! Jules xxx

Alison Claire Natural Beauty Skin Care - Review!

Hello beautiful people!
I am here today with a review of a couple of pretty awesome products :)

So, Alison Claire were super nice enough to send me a couple of bits from their skin care collection.
If you don't know much about the company, here is a quick overview...

"Products so pure you can eat them"
Alison Claire
Starting as a response to raise awareness of some of the harsh chemicals and ingredients that nasty companies can put into our skin and haircare, they wanted to give us a completely different experience. Alison Claire are all about the natural. They use no fillers, no harsh preservatives, no synthetic fragrances and no colours!
Also, with working with people with sensitive skin, they were able to create products suitable for everyone.. always a plus!

So, the first product I was delighted to try, was a Lavender and Chamomile body lotion.
£12

So, with any review of a body lotion, there's one thing you've got to know first and foremost...
Does it work? This lotion definitely works, amazingly! I used this lotion for a few days, after each bath I would use this all over my body. It left my legs feeling sooo smooth after shaving, and the lavender and chamomile really soothed any redness and irritation. It moisturises instantly and my skin continued to feel silky and smooth throughout the day. Its consistency is also perfect for a lotion as its not too thick making it a dream to spread across the skin, and it will last for a long time!

Now, on to another important factor...

How does it smell? Now, I'm not usually a very big fan of lavender scents, this is typically because I tend to find them to be quite artificial smelling. This however, blew me away! The smell is SO natural, it almost puts you into a trance! A few years ago, I lived in a house where in the garden grew a lavender bush, as soon as I smelled this lotion, that was all I could think about! Its so relaxing and puts you in an amazing state of calm, this is a great lotion to use just before bed, I guarantee you would get a beautiful sleep!

The next product I tried was the lemon-grass foot cream...
£12
This was a lovely little product to try out!
This foot cream was super moisturising and after using it, I really felt as though I just came out of the salon! It makes your feet so supple and refreshed, and you, ready to take on the day! The scent of this product is incredible, I fell in love! It instantly refreshed both my mind and my body, and put a smile on my face. Also throughout the days of using this, my feet continued to feel good, even when out and about! Definitely a product to look into if you're searching for a fix for your feet!

Overall, I was extremely happy with these products.

Having a flick through the small catalogue they sent me and a browse on their website though, I discovered a tonne of products I just HAVE to try now!!

Mango And Coconut Body Lotion

Apricot Shampoo

Lemon Conditioner

and so much more!

I am definitely wanting to get my hands on these products.

So, please do have a look at the Alison Claire website at http://www.alisonclairenaturalbeauty.com/
and have a look at what they've got to offer, tell me what's on your wish list!

Have you already tried something from Alison Claire? Tell me!

Hope this helped if you've been looking for a new range to check out, I REALLY recommend it!!

lots of love! Jules xxx

Pink hair, don't care! Manic Panic VS Directions!

Hello there beautiful!
I am here with a comparison between two extreme colour hair dyes, 'Manic Panic' and 'Directions'.
So this is my story... looking for a semi permanent pink dye to use for the ends of my hair, I took a trip to Camden and eventually found the much raved about brand 'Manic Panic' in Cyberdog. I bought the Amplified (supposedly better, stronger and longer lasting than the original) version of 'Cotton Candy Pink'.
£12, Cyberdog
OR purchase from - http://www.manicpanic.com/

So, I got home and tried this baby out... these are the results.

But sadly, with noticeable fading from just 1+ days of being done, I wasn't too pleased with the lasting power of this dye, especially since it had taken nearly the WHOLE tub to do what you can see there.

So... on my A level results day I bumped into a girl which I speak to occasionally, and she really loved my hair. Being a bright hair colour fanatic herself, she suggested I try 'Directions', and told me where in the area I could get some, which I was delighted with as I am unable to order online. So, one day I took a trip to a hair shop called 'Paks' and picked up a tub in 'Flamingo pink' and 'Lavender'.

£3 each, Paks

I did my ends again with this pink, but faded it into my hair with lavender.. these were the results...

I really liked how this turned out, and the pink was so bright and vibrant!
I know that this is mainly due to the shade difference chosen and not entirely the brand, but I couldn't help but notice the 'directions' did a much better job at covering all the hair and leaving no strand untouched. This colour stayed in for what seemed like an age, and it even possessed me to do this....

Yep, I had a YOLO moment...
and I did ALL that using still just the ONE pot of directions flamingo pink I had originally bought, and I STILL have a tonne left!
I couldn't be happier with the directions dye.. it has lasted me an absolute AGE whereas the Manic Panic was a complete waste of money in my opinion.
Also, unlike the Manic Panic, it eventually faded nicely and evenly...

And it came out enough to go to sixth form with a few really good washes!
But did leave me with a few really lovely pink tones highlights hehe.

SO, HOPE YOU'RE STILL AWAKE AFTER THIS MAMMOTH POST....
:D
if you're looking for a good coloured semi dye... you have my recommendation!

MWAH, BYE!! xxxx

Hey there stranger!

:O
WHAT'S THIS?
Juliet.......................doing a post.........................oh em gee.

ok ok...... guess it's time to do the whole explanation thing, right?

sooo my excuse for slacking on posts and videos......
..........
hahahaha..........

well, i've just been superrrr busy and in my spare time a little, well..... lazy.

it's not my fault i swear!!!
I just haven't exactly found the right moment to sit down and right a post or film a video.. which may i add are just SO MUCH EFFORT i want to kill myself every time i try.

and to be perfectly honest i've lacked a little motivation... i underestimated how hard it is to keep a blog or a channel in the extremely early days because obviously you lack the encouragement from readers and viewers, because nobody knows you yet! and without a kick up the bum I evidently let it slip...

BUT sixth form is over and I am all yours, with plenty of posts lined up!!!
